MARKETING, BRAND + DESIGN MANAGERFormerly known as Tonic Room, 2447 N Halsted Street reopened its doors as Golden Dagger in April 2021 post-pandemic shutdown. Owner Donnie wanted to completely refresh the venue’s practices and image upon it’s return. What used to be seen as a male-dominated, jam-band-centric music venue is now home to a non-male dominated staff and many diverse acts across genre and demographic.
I took on the project of rebranding the venue, working closely with Donnie to nail down a fresh narrative that translates aesthetically. The goal was to create a brand that is playful and young, and demands attention amongst the many Chicago venues. Dagger hosts local as well as national acts, and has proven time and time again it holds its own in the burgeoning music scene. Small but mighty.
Since its reopening and rebranding in 2021, Golden Dagger’s instagram has amassed over 7k new followers as of January 2023.
